Improved COVID Testing Encouraging News for Live Events.
The premiere live music magazine in the US, Pollstar.com, has recently published an article by Francisco Rendon which highlights encouraging news about the improvements in the area of Covid-19 testing in relation to live music events.
The article indicates that the US government expects to be manufacturing 50 million nasal swab BinaxNOW COVIDE-19 Ag Card rapid antigen tests a the cost of $5 each at the time of this writing. The production of these inexpensive tests along with a variety of APPs will clear event-goers who test negative for entry into a venue.
They note that Brett Herman and Timothy Monkiewicz, founders of the 8,000-cap Elements Music & Art Festival, have focussed on COVID-testing for their business in recent months. They have been busy organizing events such as the “In My Elements” retreat with electronic music, camping, yoga and meditation programming and art installations allowing for 225 participants on July 10-12, 2021 with a second installment on Sept. 25-28, 2021.
It is said that in many states it is possible that up to 1,000 people may soon be safely allowed at a gathering, and when the authorities do provide that green light, event organizers will need to be ready to operate in the safest way possible.
